It is believed that Buddha's physician, Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, created Thai massage over 2,500 years ago. It is one of the four branches of Traditional Thai medicine and has been shown to increase healthy blood circulation, improve a persons range of motion, and reduce stress and tension.

Thai massage is an ancient practice that combines Ayurvedic techniques and traditional Chinese medicine to relax and revive body and mind. Our professional massage therapist will guide you through a session where they assist in a series of passive stretches, similar to yogic stretching, and firm muscle compressions using their hands, forearms, elbows, knees and feet. Thai massage is typically more vigorous than other forms of massage as the strong application of pressure assists in loosening and relaxing the muscles.

Traditional Thai massage today still retains elements of strong spiritual connection. The spirit in which Thai massage is done is all important as it elevates it from being a mechanical, technical treatment.

You may request light or medium pressure be applied if you find this style of massage to be too firm and your therapist will tailor the massage to meet your individual needs.
